Cross Dock

When products do not need to sit on a shelf, they should not. Our cross-docking service in Kapolei moves goods from inbound trucks straight to outbound trucks, cutting storage time, handling, and cost for Hawaii businesses.

How it works

Inbound shipments arrive at our dock, where they are unloaded and sorted, then loaded directly onto outbound trucks bound for retail stores, distribution centers, or customers. Our warehouse management system tracks every shipment in real time from arrival to departure.

Types of cross-docking

• Continuous: A steady flow of high-demand products through the dock with little or no storage time.
• Consolidation: Smaller shipments from multiple suppliers are combined into full outbound loads to maximize space and lower freight costs.
• Deconsolidation: Large inbound shipments are broken down for delivery to multiple locations, ideal for distributors and retailers.

The benefits

• Faster delivery: Products spend far less time in the warehouse, which matters most for time-sensitive and perishable goods.
• Lower storage costs: Less time on the shelf means less warehouse space to pay for, a real advantage in high-rent Hawaii.
• Lower labor costs: Fewer moves and touches mean fewer labor hours.
• Better inventory flow: A steady stream of product helps prevent overstock and stockouts.
• Less damage: Fewer touchpoints reduce the chance of products being damaged.

Who it is for

Cross-docking works well for retailers restocking stores across the islands, distributors splitting large shipments, and suppliers moving time-sensitive or perishable freight. If your products already have a destination when they arrive, cross-docking can get them there faster.

Whether you need a one-time transfer or a recurring cross-dock program, our team will set up a flow that fits your schedule and your customers. Request a quote to get started.
